Tuesday Things.
1. Okay I desperately need to make this bang bang shrimp. Mouth watering.
2. What are you reading now? I finished The Correspondent over a week ago and can’t stop thinking about. It was SO good.
3. I absolutely love reading these rituals of others! Two fun ones I have: Max and I watch funny hockey bloopers on tiktok once a week and Emilia and I always watch gilmore girls if we’re home alone while the boys are at hockey.
4. I’ve wanted my colors done forever – I tried using one online and it gave me the complete opposite of what I’ve always thought! Now I don’t know if I’ve been gaslighting myself or if the online thing was just a bunch of baloney.
5. How valentine candy hearts have changed over the years.
6. TV things! I watched all of Finding Her Edge with the kids – totally cheesy and gave major hallmark vibes but we are so excited for the olympics that we sort of enjoyed it. Also, as if the characters of Tell Me Lies could get any worse! OMG.
7. The trader joe’s favorite products of the year! The soup dumplings have been a staple of ours for years and the hot honey popcorn is incredible.
8. I haven’t tried the viral Japanese cheesecake because cheesecake is my absolute favorite dessert and I just don’t think yogurt will do it for me. Have you tried it yet?!

I think the viral “cheesecake” is silly. It is nothing like cheesecake. It’s an icebox cake made with yogurt that needs a little sweetener. Not saying it’s a bad thing but call it what it really is.
I got my colors done in person and was a little surprised by the results, but I then bought some clothing in those colors and I would get compliments when wearing them, so I think that it is right. If you can find someone to do it in person, it would be interesting to see what they say. The Correspondent was really good. I’m rereading The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende right now and I forgot how great that book is. I’m really enjoying it.
Years and years ago my mom took me to get my colors done , and I do feel like overall it was accurate (do I still wear things that I know aren’t my best just because I like them ? Also yes ) I would have thought you were a winter – very curious what your two results were
I tried the Japanese cheesecake trend. It’s good, I liked it, but it’s not like cheesecake. I don’t get even pretending it is!
When I went to the grocery store today the Biscoff biscuit shelf was empty! It looks like I will be the last one in my neighborhood to try Japanese cheesecake.
I need to create some ritual or rituals for myself, now that I’m living alone. Loved reading those examples.
“Japanese Cheesecake” is a farce. Its yogurt with cookies in it, frozen. Do not expect it to taste or feel remotely like you are eating cheesecake. It’s probably not even Japanese. LOL
I just finished The Corespondent and loved it too. I’m currently reading Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid (really enjoying it so far) and Dopesick by Beth Macy, I finished her newest book Papergirl a couple weeks ago and really found it eye opening, so I wanted to check out her other works as well.
Don’t bother trying that yogurt cheesecake thing.
I love a r.eally good cheesecake and that concoction is not even close
It really is just plain yogurt with mushy cookies.
